I am using Qt Creator inside a virtual machine running windows 10 and experience (random-like) crashes of the Qt Creator every now and then I change a .pro file, which I am not able to exactly reproduce. I did not find any general help by googling and therefore tried to diagnose the problem using Qt Creator's log by piping the QT Creator output to a file like suggested in this Qt Forum Thread
C:QtToolsQtCreatorinqtcreator > qtcreator.log
but ended up with an empty file after the next crash of Qt Creator. Also, I did not see anything related to debug output at the Qt Creator CLI Docs
Do I possibly miss any flags? Alternatively, I am open to other ways to diagnose problems in Qt Creator.
